The North Rockland (Haverstraw-Stony Point) Central School District is seeking candidates for the anticipated position of Custodial Worker (Days). This is a full-time 12-month position that includes a regionally competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
  • Clean and dust surfaces such as furniture, blinds, window sills, etc.
  • Maintain floors by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, waxing, stripping and refinishing
  • Wash windows, walls, tables, bathrooms, etc.
  • Clean light fixtures and replace bulbs as needed
  • Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables
  • Move furniture and equipment
  • Load and unload delivery trucks and transports supplies to proper areas
  • Assist in building maintenance work
  • Refill soap, toilet paper and paper towel dispensers
  • Perform exterior maintenance such as mowing lawns, sweeping sidewalks, shoveling snow, etc.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
  • Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
  • Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions
