Safety
Ensure all safety procedures are followed at all times. Hold employees accountable for working within established rules and for proactively identifying and removing hazards. Immediately report all near misses, incidents, first aid cases, and unsafe working conditions to the Plant Manager and Safety Manager without exception. Administer and model safe work practices within the assigned area of responsibility. Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations and plant safety standards. Maintain responsibility for the safety and well-being of self and assigned employees.
Production
Safety always takes priority over production. Maintain primary responsibility for all activities and personnel assigned to the machine. Manage crew assignments, including rotations and breaks. Work in conjunction with the Team Leader to manage packers, trainees, and belt personnel. Perform machine make-ready activities. Proofread job jackets to verify job-specific requirements and collect customer job samples when required. Achieve established production goals related to waste, output, and make-readies. Ensure all DMS checklists and documentation are completed accurately and on time. Inspect products for non-conforming conditions including glue issues, folds, scoring, cutting, and print quality. Set up proper delivery for each job and configure the glue system for the M&P former. Complete daily production reports and set up code printers. Troubleshoot PMC, M&P, glue systems, and other applicable production equipment as needed. Maintain responsibility for product safety and quality, reporting any concerns to Senior Management or the Quality Manager.
Quality
Maintain excellent product quality standards at all times. Ensure adherence to established control plans. Perform water testing for the PMC machine and pull samples from the M&P former as required. Ensure proper procedures are followed for rejecting raw materials. Follow established procedures for evaluating, rejecting, or approving questionable product produced by the machine.
Maintenance
Assist with machine maintenance activities as needed.
Housekeeping
Assist with housekeeping of production machines. Maintain cleanliness of equipment within the assigned area of responsibility.
Machinery
Perform and ensure all preventative maintenance is completed according to scheduled Zone PM requirements.
Performance Excellence
Actively participate in applicable performance excellence and continuous improvement activities.
Additional Responsibility
Serve as backup to the Team Leader as required.
