Job description

TOOLING EXPEDITER
Reports to: Tooling Manager
2nd Shift: 3pm - 11pm
Summary
Facilitates and expedites the flow of materials to and from various departments. Deals directly with vendors to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods to appropriate locations. Inspects goods upon delivery to verify delivered goods match order specifications. Handles any delivery inconsistencies or delays.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • All die coordinators must be qualified to inspect and recognize tooling that needs to be repaired, replaced or revised.
  • Machine scheduled walk through -verify all items that are planned are at the machines. All other tooling should be pulled, inspected and returned to proper locations.
  • Pull a printing plate backlog once a shift. All items must be inspected and staged if they meet requirements.
  • Pre/post inspection of cutting dies - pre-inspect and tag cutting dies once a shift. All shifts are required to pull and put away cutting dies as it is returned from the machines. If dies are too large or too heavy to handle alone, get someone to assist.
  • Let Tooling Coordinator know of dies or plates to be modified, repaired or replaced. Then notify Superintendent and Supervisors of the status of the tooling 'In-House Repair' or 'Outside Repair.' Responsible for all tooling PO's. Monthly tooling spread sheets. Chek in all incoming print plates. Assign print plate & cutting die #'s from the Print or Cutting Die Log Book. Keep up die spread sheets. Assign location to all print plates and enter it into HRMS. All supporting documentation will be attached and delivered to die room. Responsible for all out going tooling. Order tooling and supplies when needed. Help scan print cards and cads in system, if applicable. Get quotes for tooling when needed. Responsible for all tooling bill of ladings that are sent out.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED.
Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:
Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
6 months experience in the Press or Finishing Department.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:
Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
Product layouts and production specifications
Product quality specifications
Quality standards
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
