Job description

Hang miscellaneous sheet metal parts and/or unrack finished painted parts per documented procedures.

JOB DUTIES

1. Check parts for defects per SOD-3045 and dispose as prescribed.

2. Moves parts from crates and place on racks. Remove parts from racks and place in crates.

3. Hang proper racks for next day set-up.

4. Unrack and prepare painted hooks for outside burn-off service.

5. Perform proper shut-down procedure for Penthouse Oven.

6. Ability to make paint additions, minor spray gun adjustments, and perform quality checks per SOD.

7. Perform department packing duties of painted parts.

8. Notify Group Leader, Supervisor, and Production Engineer when difficulties arise.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Job requires standing for extended periods of time to perform duties.

2. Good hand/eye coordination to keep up with continuous running line.

3. Ability to reach to shoulder level.

4. Sustained physical effort processing/handling various sized parts and oily materials.

5. Ability to climb Ships Ladder and pass Harness/Fall Protection training to shut oven off.

6. Wear proper personal protective equipment per Cell Risk Assessment document.

7. Good eyesight required to identify part/paint defects.

TOOLS/EQUIPMENT:

Basic tools used in a manufacturing environment. Ability to use various pallet jacks.

CHEMICALS/MATERIALS:

Exposure to oily parts. Occasional exposure to solution fumes and oven heat.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Clean, air-conditioned manufacturing area.

2. Must meet designated lifting requirements of 35 pounds.

3. Safety glasses with side shields required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required according to job duties and Cell Risk Assessments.

4. Drinking and eating in designated areas only.

5. Must maintain good housekeeping practices in assigned area. (Perform 5S activities within the cell)

6. Must work in a team environment and will be required to rotate to various aspects of the job.

7. May be exposed to noise, dirt and/or chemicals in Powder Coat area.

8. May require successful completion of a variety of on-the-job certifications or qualification programs (including classroom instruction where applicable).

9. MOS - Embrace and engage in the Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) including activities, but not limited to Safety & Behavioral Observation Process (BOP), 5S, Continuous Improvement (Kaizen), Tiered Accountability Process, Standard Work, Rapid Problem Solving (RPS), Built In Quality (BIQ), Coaching, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Knowledge Sharing.
