A Train Staffing is hiring Loaders (Electric Pallet Jack Operators) in Palmdale, CA!


Job Title:Loader - Electric Pallet Jack Drivers

Pay Rate:$20.00/hour

Benefits:Medical, Dental, AD&D

Schedule:Must be open and flexible

Requirements: Must have Electric Pallet Jack experience

Reports To:Shipping Supervisor


Job Purpose

The Loader is responsible for scanning and loading store pallets accurately, securing loads properly, and ensuring timely departures to meet shipping schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verify pallet counts per store prior to loading.
  • Verify store pallet ID tags, case labels, and manifests to ensure pallets are staged correctly.
  • Confirm correct door and trailer numbers.
  • Operate green and red dock lights appropriately (green inside while loading, red outside, and vice versa).
  • Ensure trailers are properly chocked and secured before loading.
  • Scan doors and pallets during loading; pallets must be scanned one by one.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Shipping Office regarding pallet counts and departure times.
  • Complete loading sheets accurately, including store number, pallet count per store, seal number, and trailer number; submit paperwork promptly.
  • Do not load pallets that are unsafe or unstable; report issues to the Supervisor on duty.
  • Report any pallets with damaged product to a Supervisor.
  • Secure all loads using load straps or load bars.
  • Operate a double electric pallet jack while following all safety practices.
  • Load containers using an Electric Pallet Jack.
  • Rewrap pallets that are not properly secured before transporting or loading.
  • Re-palletize pallets that are not properly stacked before transporting.
  • When re-palletizing, lift boxes weighing up to 40 lbs.

Computer Skills

  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Familiarity with WMS systems.
  • 10-key experience preferred.

Reasoning & Communication Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse workforce.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to re-stack pallets when necessary.
  • Must be able to perform physical job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment

  • Ability to work in a distribution center environment with varying temperatures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong commitment to customer service.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with coworkers.
  • Experience operating an Electric Pallet Jack.
