Job Title: Painting Lead / Crew Leader

Painter Bros of Greenville provides high-quality residential and commercial painting services throughout the Upstate. We focus on professionalism, reliability, and clean, detailed work. As we grow, we’re looking for a Painting Lead / Crew Leader who can manage projects and crews while delivering a great customer experience.

Position Overview

The Painting Lead will run day-to-day field operations for both residential and commercial projects. You’ll lead a small crew, coordinate with the office, communicate with customers, and make sure every job is completed safely, on schedule, and to Painter Bros standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Crew Management

  • Lead and supervise a crew of painters on residential and commercial projects
  • Plan daily tasks, delegate work, and maintain productivity and timelines
  • Set up and break down job sites, ensuring organization and cleanliness
  • Track labor and materials and communicate needs to the office/owner
  • Report progress, issues, and change orders promptly

Painting & Surface Preparation

  • Perform and oversee surface prep: cleaning, scraping, sanding, caulking, patching, priming
  • Apply paints, stains, and coatings by brush, roll, and spray on interiors and exteriors
  • Ensure the correct products and methods are used for various substrates (drywall, wood, metal, masonry, etc.)
  • Conduct ongoing quality checks and final touch-ups to meet Painter Bros quality standards

Customer Service & Communication

  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for customers
  • Review scope of work at the start of each job and provide daily updates
  • Professionally handle questions, concerns, and small changes in scope
  • Conduct final walk-throughs, complete punch lists, and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Represent Painter Bros of Greenville in a clean, professional manner

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce all safety procedures and proper use of PPE with the crew
  • Safely set up and use ladders, scaffolding, and other access equipment
  • Follow OSHA, EPA, and manufacturer guidelines (including lead-safe practices where applicable)
  • Maintain a safe, orderly job site at all times

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of professional painting experience (interior/exterior; residential and/or commercial)
  • 1+ year in a leadership role (crew leader, foreman, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of surface prep, coatings, tools, and application techniques
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to projects around Greenville/Upstate
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders, scaffolding, and in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, job scopes, and product data sheets
  • Strong communication skills and basic problem-solving ability

Preferred

  • Experience leading crews of 2–5 painters on both residential and commercial jobs
  • Familiarity with estimating labor hours and materials needs from a scope of work
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Lead-safe certification or willingness to obtain
