Under the guidance of the Youth and Family Program Director, plans and implements paint classes for ages 7 and up.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Ensures proper technique and safe teaching skill development.
  2. Ensure a safe and fun atmosphere for children and adults to learn
  3. Explains and demonstrates use of supplies and equipment.
  4. Plans and executes painting classes to engage and interest children and families
  5. Observe participants during class to detect and correct mistakes always encouraging positive feedback.
  6. Be able to allow someone else to have a different perspective, vision of the art
  7. Keeps records of attendance.
  8. Notify supervisor of any damaged equipment or shortages.
  9. Wear appropriate activity attire.
  10. Arrives early enough to prepare properly for class.
  11. Starts and ends class on scheduled time
  12. Motivate and encourage participants with positive feedback
  1. Organize and maintain all equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to touch, handle; or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; kick, run or jump and taste or smell.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 45 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience or education with children, adults and instructional painting projects.
