Description
JOB SUMMARY/OBEJECTIVE: As a painter, you will prep, prime, fill, paint and finish the builds of the Fabrication/router departments using materials commonly used in the automotive/sign painting industries. The merchandise that is finished in this area must have perfect finish and must be completed without blemish. Any flaws in metals or various materials will be filled with body fillers or glazing putties and sanded to a premium quality surface before applying paints and/or clear coats.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Being aware of the types of projects at hand, and which materials are best suited for completion
  • Cycle counts of paint and paint materials when necessary
  • Reading and understanding work orders and cad drawing packets to ensure the correct color/finish is used
  • Must demonstrate competency in use, as well as safe usage of various paint/finishing chemicals, spray gun, paint booth, various sanding/grinding tools
  • Responsible for the general housekeeping of the paint department area, as well as the orderly and safe storage/staging of finished product or product in queue
  • Have a clear understanding of production workflow's interrelationship the paint department has with other departments
  • Cross train and assist in any other department when work load dictates
  • Check that all information regarding Work Order is complete and provides full understanding of the tasks to be completed
  • Any other related task and/or responsibility assigned by supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No direct supervisory duties.
POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
Day Shift 8:00AM-4:30PM Monday - Friday
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
1. Minimum High school diploma or equivalent experience required
2. 3+ years of experience in a painter position
3. 3+ years of experience with prep, sanding, and filling
4. 2+ years of experience powder coating
5. Must know how to read a mixing cup, as well as paint tech sheet
6. Must display competency as to which paints/coatings can be used on specific surfaces or applications
7. Open and available to work overtime including weekends to meet customer due dates

Pay Range
$27.00 Hourly to $30.00 Hourly
