Job description

You will be the Aircraft Painter for the team which is responsible for setting up various types of spray painting equipment and applying primer, finish, and protective paint and paint-like coatings to parts and subassemblies.


What You Will Be Doing


As the Aircraft Painter, you will be responsible for obtaining paint types, colors, number of coats, and areas to be painted from work orders, engineering drawings, and process specifications.


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Mixing paints to specified proportions and to obtain proper consistency for application

  • Performing incidental preparatory duties such as cleaning and preparing surfaces for painting and masking to skin breaks or other physical references

  • Laying out for, masking, and spraying all types of primer, finish, and protective coatings on surfaces of detail parts and of sub-assemblies

  • Making operating adjustments to painting equipment to control spray pattern, density, and splatter as required

  • Spray painting crew, equipment, passenger, stowage, and wheel-well compartments, and other interior surfaces of unstuffed major aircraft assemblies
