Job Responsibilities & Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
  • Ability to read blue prints.
  • Lay out, position, align and secure parts prior to painting using prescribed fixtures and proper work procedures.
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the painting trade.
  • Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Monitor painting processes to assure desired finish is achieved.
  • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify the Foreman or management.
  • Determine required equipment and painting methods via established work procedures and apply proper painting techniques.
  • Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.
  • Position and secure work-pieces, using hoists, cranes etc.
  • Improve appearance of materials using sand blasting equipment.
  • Package material and help load and unload trucks as instructed.
  • Any other job duties assigned within and outside of the painting department, as needed.

  • Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred
  • Experience: One to two years related experience preferred, but not required.
