Our HNI Workplaces Furnishings team in Muscatine, IA is actively looking for a Skilled Trades Specialist to fill a 1st shift opportunity.

Starting pay is between $36.00 - $42.00 per hour based on prior manufacturing experience.

What your day looks like:

In a Skilled Trades Specialist role, you will be responsible for performing a wide variety of troubleshooting, repair, and programming functions related to production equipment, plant facilities, and environmental systems.

Develop, design, program, installs, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production processes and any specialized equipment involving:

  • Instruments/Vision Systems including Specification, Design and Programming
  • Process Control and Networking
  • Electrical Theory - wiring and power distribution
  • Electronics - Computers, PLC’s & DCs
  • Motor Programming
  • Hydraulics
  • Pneumatics
  • Power Transmission, Lubrication and Pumps
  • Mechanical Operations
  • Motors, Automation and Robotics (Programming, Maintain and Repair)
  • Paint Oven Process Heating, Paint Oven Controls and Troubleshooting, Burner Controls, Heated Oil
  • Systems, Heating Units and Controls

Your qualifications:

  • Preferably a minimum of 6 years of experience in an industrial or military setting focusing on electro-mechanical maintenance, electrical and power distribution, electronics, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical equipment, motor controls, drives and programmable controllers.

Education and/or Required Training:

  • No prior education or training is required.
  • Must successfully meet the benchmark of skill assessment.
Requirements:
  • Pass pre-employment drug testing
  • Pass a 7-year criminal background check
  • High school diploma or GED is not required
