Job description

JOB TITLE: VEHICLE PAINT PREP/POLISHER

TK Harness and Wire in Oxford, MI specializes in low-volume high end vehicle production. We are currently expanding and seeking to add a quality vehicle paint prep/polisher to our team.

The vehicle painter position is responsible to assist in incoming inspection, vehicle paint prep and final surface work on show and event type vehicles. The position requires following established practices and procedures to ensure quality performance to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Key responsibilities may include but not limited to:

·        Performing wet sand and rub

·        All work meeting show quality standards

·        Masking and demasking parts and making an inspection to ensure no damage is done

·        Performing a finish of the part(s) after painting is completed using the specified products outlined in the work instruction. Products may include wax, compound or polish

·        Finishing surfaces by polishing with sandpaper, pumice, compound, wax or other materials

·        Following a build schedule, ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner

·        Maintaining a clean, organized workspace

·        Using manual hand tools

·        Performing other tasks as assigned by the paint manager

Job Requirements

·        Must have hands on experience

·        Experience with clean and prep skill

·        Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time

·        Must be able to perform repetitive movements with both hands

·        Must have a steady hand when performing duties

·        Self-motivated individual who can work alone or in a small team
