Job description

Position Summary


We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Paint/Gelcoat Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for painting and final finish repair of USV’s.  You will ensure industry leading quality and safety are achieved to create innovative and industry leading USV’s. Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Safety
    • Personally lead by example by adhering to all safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of you and your team.
    • Ensure proper PPE, tools, equipment, and material handling equipment is used correctly.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
    • Manage all material handling and chemical storage processes. 
  • Manage and maintain all critical equipment or tools, including the automated paint system cell and controls.
  • The primary process will be epoxy based paint, but gelcoat application and finishing may be required.  You will be responsible for paint or gelcoating processes from surface prep through paint application to final finishing.  This will be in a controlled paint environment.
  • You may be required to perform repair processes on finished USV’s of USV’s in process that have received damage.
  • Quality / Continuous Improvement
    • Ensure the critical steps of finishing are followed to ensure critical finish standards and finish durability for the mission is achieved.
    • Complete ISPC (In-Station Process Control) sheets to record critical process steps and capture critical to quality, critical to safety and productivity results.
    • Identify and report any discrepancies, malfunctions, or quality issues to manager or manufacturing engineers.
    • Be a part of new model design reviews and prototyping of new products and processes.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions aimed at improving processes, efficiency, and product quality.
    • Adhere to all company quality procedures.

Required Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of experience in boat finishing, automotive painting or similar environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, ensuring critical finish processes are followed.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, ISO9001 and other manufacturing management practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work safely.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Basic computer skills for completing required HR and Manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.
  • May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during finish processes.
  • Regular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
  • Occasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as needed
  • Requires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.
