Job description

Location - Georgia Power Hydro Sites (Statewide Travel Required)

Client - Georgia Power

Contract - 1 Year (Possible Extension)


Position Summary

This position will serve as the Site Construction Quality Coordinator and may be filled as a QCA2 or QCA3, depending on the successful candidate’s experience level.
The role supports multiple Georgia Power Hydro sites under the Hydro Modernization Program, requiring travel between sites as needed.

The position ensures that construction activities comply with project specifications, codes, standards, and quality assurance requirements.

AMPP/NACE certification is a plus.

CWI/AWS certification and 10+ years of quality oversight experience (or a 4-year degree in a related field) are required.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Management with the development and implementation of the Project Quality Plan.

  • Provide oversight of onsite contractors to ensure all work meets applicable specifications and standards.

  • Assist in the development and documentation of site-specific procedures and guidelines.

  • Develop and maintain surveillance schedules and perform required quality surveillances.

  • Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure adherence to established requirements.

  • Support construction teams with preventative maintenance planning and quality documentation.

  • Participate in pre-bid, pre-mobilization, and contractor coordination meetings to ensure contractor understanding of project quality expectations.

  • Collaborate with Project and Construction Management to monitor and maintain overall project quality performance.


Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in construction quality oversight, or

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with equivalent experience.

  • CWI/AWS certification (required).

  • AMPP/NACE certification (preferred).

  • Strong understanding of construction QA/QC principles, documentation, and reporting standards.


Skills & Expertise
  • Self-starter, proactive, and detail-oriented.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with welding standards and inspection processes.

  • Ability to work independently and travel frequently to multiple project sites.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers.
