PAY:
Local Pay: $70/hr on W2
Travelers Pay:
Taxable Amount - $35.25/hr on W2
Lodging Stipend - $1,100 weekly
Meals Stipend - $740 weekly
Weekly Gross - $3,250 weekly including stipend for 40 hours.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position - RN-Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Location - 133 Old Road to 9 Acre Corner, Concord, MA 01742
Duration - 13 weeks contract
Shift - 12:30 pm to 11 pm, On-call rotational weekends and holidays required as per
unit need
Weekly Hours - 40 hours
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and procedural interventions.
Perform immediate post-operative assessments, including airway, respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and pain evaluations.
Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythm, oxygen saturation, and level of consciousness during the recovery phase.
Administer prescribed medications, including pain management, antiemetics, IV fluids, and emergency medications.
Assess and manage postoperative pain, nausea, vomiting, and other anesthesia-related complications.
Monitor surgical sites, dressings, drains, and bleeding while promptly identifying and reporting complications.
Maintain airway patency and assist with oxygen therapy, suctioning, and emergency airway management as needed.
Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition, including respiratory distress, hypotension, and cardiac emergencies.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, CRNAs, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe patient recovery.
Educate patients and families regarding postoperative care, medications, activity restrictions, and discharge instructions.
Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, medications, and recovery progress in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
Prepare patients for discharge or transfer to inpatient units based on established recovery criteria.
Maintain PACU equipment and ensure emergency supplies are readily available.
REQUIREMENT:
MA RN license, BLS, ACLS & PALS - Required
Critical Care/PACU experience, >2 years experience and pedi experience
