JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for supervision of all aspects of assigned production line(s). Take direction from Operations on scheduling, line preparation and production execution. This individual will be a direct supervisor for assigned production employees. Oversee the operations to provide day-to-day control of assigned department activities according to prescribed scheduled, priorities, production flow, and processing specifications to ensure production efficiencies are met hourly, evaluate all department work performance and take corrective action.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
1. Monitor and supervise all aspects of assigned production line(s)
2. Responsible for production quality
3. Ensure all tools and supplies needed to get the job done are available
4. Make sure all equipment being taken apart is being done safely and properly and that equipment is stored properly
5. Make sure all production change-overs and performed properly
6. Notify maintenance when maintenance is required
7. Make sure all re-work is returned to the proper lines in a timely manner
8. Oversee the integrity of finished product (quality, weights, labeling etc...)
9. Notify Plant Manger when issues arise
10. Ensure production efficiency
11. Make sure that they proper lot numbers for raw materials are being used consistently
12. Responsible for production related communication flow and coordination between line workers
13. Supervise line employees in setting up and executing daily activities
14. Ability to train new employees on assigned duties
15. Manage attendance of employee and send available personnel to other departments as needed
16. Verify that all personnel are in attendance on the Master Schedule
17. Communicate problems about line production with QA Manager, Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager
18. Transfer hours as necessary on Master Schedule
19. Discipline and reward employees when appropriate
20. Assist in production scheduling
21. Troubleshoot line issues and communicate equipment issues with Production Maintenance Manager
22. Monitor quality of finished product, quality of workmanship, case product labels, pallet quality, palletizing of product, wrapping of pallets
23. Verify transfer of finished product from production floor to storage
24. Responsible for sanitation of work areas
25. Assures compliance with all company safety rules
26. Follow and enforce safety rules, housekeeping, and proper operation of equipment
27. Follow and monitor proper safety equipment usage and safety proactive
28. Follow and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices and Procedures (GMP)
29. Coordinate bathroom breaks and lunch periods
30. Monitor the cleanliness of designated areas of the plant
31. Must know job requirements for all positions on assigned production line(s)
32. Complete required daily paperwork
QUALIFICATIONS:
§ High School Diploma or equivalent certification
§ Considerable knowledge of production processes and work requirements
§ Ability to speak, read, and write English
§ Effective communication and interpersonal skills
§ Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
§ Ability to use various databases and applications independently
§ Ability to comprehend the implications of process, policies and regulations, against requirements.
§ Ability to manage the general services functional areas: purchasing, transportation processing, inventory management, and contracts and accountable property.
§ Ability to establish a new network of professional working relationships with customers, colleagues and service provides, while further developing existing networks.
§ Ability to make decisions and solve complex problems effectively and independently and identify alternative solutions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
ACTIVITIES:
Very active position, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing.
HEARING:
Must be able to hear average or normal conversation and receive ordinary information. Depending on work assignment must be able to work in a noisy work environment.
REPETITIVE MOTION:
Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.
VISUAL ABILITIES:
Acute closed vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH:
Must be able to frequently lift light to heavy objects throughout the day. Must be able to exerts up to 10lbs of force occasionally.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to work for long hours in a no-kill food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are frequently below freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for most of their work days.
