Job description

Temporary Tool Crib Project
Job Summary
Indiana Packers Corporation (IPC), a dynamic fresh pork processor based in Delphi, Indiana, is looking for a motivated temporary Warehouse/ Tool Crib Helper to assist with an inventory project. This position will be managed by the project manager of a 3rd party contractor. This role will provide temporary assistance until the project is complete. It requires record keeping, data entry and inventory control. Upon successful completion of this temporary assignment team members will have the opportunity to transition into a full-time production position. The hours for this Temporary Tool Crib Project are Monday through Friday, 6:00am-2:35pm. Some weekends and overtime, as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Assist MVP One with a comprehensive inventory of all tools and equipment.
  • Locate, relocate, and organize tools and parts as directed.
  • Accurately counts small and large parts
  • Document information accurately, including type, condition, and location.
  • Support basic housekeeping and 5S initiatives related to tool organization.
  • Write part ID numbers legibly on tags to be attached to various items
  • Read and understand part IDs and descriptions
  • Follow all safety, security, and site-specific procedures.
  • Communicate progress, issues, or missing items to MVP One leadership.
  • Moves tools and equipment within the facility, manually or using hand truck
  • All employees are expected to adhere to their scheduled working hours and attend work consistently to ensure smooth operations and effective teamwork.

Qualification
  • Relevant tool crib or warehouse experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft. ERP system experience preferred
  • Forklift Certified and material handling skills preferred ability to acquire certification required.
  • Basic math skills for verification of receipt quantities
  • Ability to read, write and speak English to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
  • Ability to work independently and identify solutions with very little supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and Resourceful in accomplishing tasks
  • Effective communication of issues and solutions to cross-functional team members
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions on the site including exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and hearing protection is required. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in cold, hot, and outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.
Physical Demand
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The position lifts heavy objects up to 75 lbs. short distances, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support without fatigue. The position requires the ability to bend, stoop or kneel as required to reach parts on lower level or from the floor, good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arms and fingers, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. Carry parts down several flights of stairs. The employee must have excellent stamina and vision.
