Job description

We are a lighting manufacturer in downtown Clearwater, looking for an associate to perform Packing, Staging and Inventory Control; you will be working with a packer in this department.  
Inventory: Ensure parts are accounted for correctly and provide accurate information to ensure the system is kept up to date for proper re-order points.

Staging: Pull the correct parts from inventory and stage in the various assembly areas so the assemblers can build their work orders.

Quality Control / packing: Once assemblers build the products they go back to the packing area, this role will perform the final quality check once orders are build and proceed to pack them safely so they do not get damaged during transit.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Get familiar with inventory, shelves, codes, locations and back stock (refill boxes).

- Track stock levels, do monthly inventory counts on optimum schedule to ensure the system is up to date.

- Provide inventory adjustments or notify when stock is below optimum levels for re-order points.

- Pull various parts from inventory and stage for the different assembly areas so they can build their orders. This is done quickly, accurately so the assemblers remain at their stations.

- Prepare wires, work on the wire stripping machine to provide correct lengths and quantities when required on a work order.

- Packaging: this includes wrapping, boxing, or bagging items according to standard specifications, ensuring they are ready for transport

- Quality control: inspect products for any damages or defects before packaging to maintain quality standards

- Attach labels, barcodes, and other identifying marks to packages as needed, ensuring information is accurate for tracking and compliance

- Keep inventory shelves, packing and staging areas clean and organized with safety and optimum production in mind.

- Perform light maintenance on equipment if necessary (scale, foam machine, wire stepping machine).


Requirements:

- Experience in a warehouse, production, or packaging role is preferred.

- Strong organization skills

- Skilled at handling small, delicate items and performing tasks that require precision andcare.

- Able to follow instructions and communication with team members effectively

- Familiarity with or willingness to learn how to operate packaging machinery, such as shrink wrap machines, labeler, and scales

- Capable of working independently and within a team
- Comfortable and competent with machines, equipment, software, email, spreadsheets, ERP system.
 

Physical Demands:

This position is physically active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching and climbing for 2-4 hours at a time. Must be able to lift and/or move items of 50 pounds.


Drug Free Workplace:

We are a Florida Drug Free Workplace. The company requires all employees to complete a pre-employment 10 panel drug screen; employment status will be dependent on ability to pass this screening and partake on a quarterly random screen.
 

Hours, compensation & benefits:

Full-time 7am to 4pm with breaks. Some flexibility will be needed to close out monthly and quarterly shipments.

Hourly Rate $20 per hour, negotiable based on experience and skillset.

After a 30-day waiting period full-time employees become eligible for Medical, Dental and Vision insurance, paid holidays and paid time off that increases with longevity. After 90 days you can participate in 401K.
