Job description

Job Title: Production Packer – Food Grade Plastics (2nd Shift)
Job Description

This role focuses on safely packing food-grade plastic products on an automated production line. You will work on your feet throughout the shift, handle lightweight to moderate lifting, and help ensure that finished products are properly staged for shipment while following strict food safety and personal protective equipment requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor an automatic packing line to pack food-grade plastic products, including jugs for milk, liquids, and protein powder.
  • Inspect products as they come down the line to ensure they meet quality and food safety standards before packing.
  • Lift stacks of finished or semi-finished products from the packing station and place them in designated areas for staging.
  • Stage final product pallets or stacks so that forklift operators can safely remove them from the production cell.
  • Maintain a steady work pace while standing for the entire shift in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Follow all food-grade personal protective equipment (PPE) and hygiene requirements to protect product integrity.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines, including the use of steel toe or composite toe footwear and other required PPE.
  • Cross-train on multiple production lines and adjust to slightly different processes and workflows as needed.
  • Keep the work area organized, clean, and free of obstructions to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors about production issues, safety concerns, or equipment irregularities.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to stand for the full duration of the shift without difficulty.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced production or packing environment.
  • Reliability and willingness to work extended hours, including overtime and weekends, to meet production needs.
  • Ability to follow detailed safety, food-grade, and PPE requirements consistently.
  • Ownership of or willingness to obtain steel toe or composite toe shoes.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure proper packing and staging of food-grade products.
  • Capability to adapt to different production lines and processes through cross-training.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience in warehouse, production, or general labor roles is an asset.
  • Familiarity with working in a food-grade or sanitary production environment is beneficial.
  • Comfort working as part of a team in a structured, process-driven setting.
Why Work Here?

You join a stable, high-volume production environment where your contribution directly supports essential consumer products. The role offers consistent hours with opportunities for overtime, allowing you to build a reliable income. You will gain cross-training on multiple production lines, expanding your skills and experience in manufacturing. The workplace emphasizes safety, teamwork, and clear processes, providing structure and predictability in your day-to-day work.

Work Environment

This is a 2nd shift position, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. You will regularly be scheduled for additional hours, including weekends and up to approximately 60 hours per week, and may be asked to start up to 4 hours earlier or stay up to 4 hours later than your regular shift to meet production demands. The facility produces food-grade plastic products, so it follows strict cleanliness and hygiene standards. You will work on your feet for the entire shift in a production area with automated packing lines and active material handling equipment.
