Description
A-1 Electrical Contractors is seeking a Warehouse Associate/Delivery Driver to join our team. The Warehouse Associate/Delivery driver assists with the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or project sites, ensuring smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper locations in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements. Act as a backup driver for local deliveries to job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Receiving, unpacking, arranging and storing warehouse materials and equipment, including scissor lifts and mini excavators.
  • Gathering, packing, preparing and loading materials for dispatching
  • Using strap and chain bindings to secure equipment for transportation.
  • Marking and labeling stock
  • Organizing, maintaining, and sorting materials.
  • Organizing and maintaining small tools and yard equipment, including tracking/logging, safety, and security of these items.
  • Maintaining and basic up-keep of company-owned vehicles and trailers.
  • Maintenance and daily upkeep of main office location (land and all buildings).
  • Assist employees with moving, gathering, or transferring materials.
  • Delivering construction and electrical equipment to jobsites, including loading and unloading.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.

Experience Qualifications:
  • Required: Valid Louisiana State Driver's License
  • Preferred: 2+ Years Experience in the Construction/Electrical Industry
  • Preferred: Small Equipment Operator Certification
  • Preferred: Commercial Driver's License

Physical Requirements:
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Stand/Walk for prolonged durations.
  • Use hands and arms for handling, reaching, and operating equipment.
  • Lift and/or move up to 75+ lbs. occasionally
  • Operate small equipment (ex: forklift, loader)
  • Drive a vehicle while towing a trailer for deliveries
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions (Rain, Cold, Extreme Heat)
  • Tolerate exposure to water, dust, dirt, grease, paint fumes, and chemicals.
  • Work in environment with equipment nose and vibration.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Pay Range: $22.00-$28.00/hour

Work Environment: This position works in a warehouse/yard setting from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break. The ability to work overtime is required.
