Job Description

Sealed Air is seeking a driven, manufacturing professional to fulfill our current opening Technician, located in our Danbury, Connecticut facility. The qualified candidate will play a key role in ensuring that quality is maintained in the processes that produce the Instapak Quick products. This position will be in a fast-paced environment with daily responsibilities in support of a diverse manufacturing team. The ability to handle multiple tasks, work In a team environment will be critical. The position reports to the Team Performance Leader (shift supervisor).
The of Technician is responsible for ensuring that all production equipment and support equipment is operating properly, and products are made are within standards on two production lines. The Technician will work closely with the quality control operators, other Technicians, Production Support Assôciates, Packing Associates, and the TPL within their shift to ensure quality standards are maintained and machines are operating safely and properly for optimal production efficiency.

Pay: $20.00 

Shift: Night


Primary Responsibilities:

•    Takes on the tasks of Operator Level 1, 2, 3, Production Support Associate, and Packing Associate as necessary to assist production when necessary (repairs and maintenance permitting)
•    Performs quality inspections, process tests and records data accurately as required
•    Works with little to no direct supervision
•    Operates and maintain fork trucks
•    Uses a forklift to move finished and raw material pallets in the warehouse
•    Performs housekeeping duties as necessary to promote safety, tidiness, and efficiency (6S)
•    Works closely with all operators, packers and supervision to ensure optimal shift operation and production machine performance
•    Performs cross shift communications to ensure that issues are communicated and documented
•    Keeps machinery and work area in a clean and orderly condition
•    Follows all safety rules, and works in a safe manner
•    Familiar with, and fully implement LOTO during maintenance and repairs
•    Knowledge of basic control systems is a plus
•    Takes a leadership role when required
•    Uses computers to document machine performance, repairs, and manufacturing data
•    Supports business needs by working overtime and on weekends as necessary to satisfy schedule requirements
•    Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

•    Education: High school diploma/GED, or equivalent schooling
•    Successfully pass a criminal background screening and drug test
•    Basic hand tool skills
•    Must be able to perform repetitive assembly using hands and arms which includes bending and stretching
•    Must be able to wear cotton clothing, steel toed boots, safety glasses
•    Bi-lingual skills in English and Spanish preferred
•    Ability to safely perform timely electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
•    Possesses troubleshooting and mechanical skills
•    Ability to lead and take a leadership role if necessary
•    Familiar with LOTO
