Job description

Summary
My Favorite Things is hiring a part-time Warehouse Associate/Stocker to assist with warehouse, stocking, and shipping/receiving tasks in a retail setting. This individual will be responsible for helping customers and other team members load and unload heavy and potentially fragile merchandise for display and purchase, and should have the ability to push/pull/lift up to 80 pounds. The Warehouse Associate/Stocker will also assist other team members with building and repairing displays, processing incoming products, rotating stock, and resolving customer issues or questions.
Schedule
We are currently hiring for a part-time day shift schedule that requires Saturday availability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
  • Loads and unloads merchandise including furniture.
  • Unpack and relocate merchandise for storage and placement of goods.
  • Keeps warehouse clean and orderly by reorganizing and tracking stock.
  • Working knowledge of proper lifting techniques (up to 80 pounds).
  • Assist in floor resets, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping.
  • Oversee packing and unpacking items to be stocked.
  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
  • Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise and monitoring floor stock.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure that each customer is greeted and acknowledged.

  • Must have the ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 80 pounds
  • Must be able to lift large or heavy items (I.e. mirrors, art, rugs, lamps, furniture, etc.) and assist with loading and unloading merchandise.
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will be able to understand.
  • Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity through use of typing on a keyboard, sorting through paperwork, reaching and grabbing objects, cutting paper or ribbon, or tying ribbon and bows.
  • Ability to lift, stack and maneuver objects and boxes.
  • Ability to climb a step ladder and reach for objects above the head.
  • Ability to operate standard business equipment such as a fax, computer, printer, copier, inventory scanning system, and cash register system, HR time approval system, etc.
  • Ability to travel to other locations as needed.
  • Must be able to work on a flexible schedule that at times may include late working hours or weekend hours.
