Job description

Packing Associate

The packing associate will be responsible for transferring material from Work in Process storage to Finished Goods Storage. The associate will verify counts using a counting scale and by hand. The position will require lifting of containers weighing up to 40 pounds. This position requires the ability to efficiently store material in pre-assigned locations and the accurate preparation of documents. The associate must be able to read, understand and follow written work instructions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the packaging and unitizing of shipments.
  • Accurately count container quantities by hand or with a counting scale.
  • Count and transfer parts from Work in Process storage to Finished Goods Storage accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist in the preparation of new work instructions and help revise existing instructions as necessary.
  • Follow all general and job specific safety and operating requirements established at YAMI.
  • Provide suggestions for improvements in the warehouse and other work areas.
  • Other duties either temporary or permanent as required or assigned to support Quality Assurance activities at Yahagi America Molding, Inc.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping totes and notify Scheduling Associate when additional totes are needed.
