Job description

Bill Rate : $20.70
Pay Rate : $15.00 (1st Shift)
Shift details : One for 8am-4:30pm ;(M-F)
Title : General Labor
Important : Temporary worker may need to work with multiple spices.
*Pay rate: $15.00, note differential .50 cents * for 2nd and 3rd shift.
could have OT, not mandatory for contingent workers., OT might occur on Saturdays.

PPE: *Steel toed shoes (This has to be provided by the contingent worker). *
Some areas have anti-fatigue mats. They do require hearing and safety PPE that is provided by the site.
Packing and Stacking: Very basic role. On an assembly line stacking and packing products. Products that they handle are spices and coffee. Will be trained to learn pallet jack. Once pallet is filled they take the pallet to a staging area where a fork truck will grab the pallet. (They will not be on the fork truck).
Climate: Climate controlled warehouse. (Throughout building Max temp could be 77 degrees.)
Orientation: This is required of the temp agency. (The site has a presentation that they require)
Temp to perm: Could but not guaranteed, this is based off of attendance, performance and business needs.

TITLE: Spice and CP - General Help
I. Reporting Relationship Title
Reports to: Operations Resource Leader
II. Purpose of Position
Pack and inspect products as they come off the line for quality related issues. Place products on pallets according to diagrams. Assist with line maintenance and regular clean-up. Perform other utility task as assigned in the Spice and CP Departments.
III. Position Responsibilities and Job Functions
โ€ข Observes Company rules and regulations.
โ€ข Performs all duties in a safe manner.
โ€ข Maintains GMP's and excellent housekeeping practices throughout the shift. Follows "if down do" practices.
โ€ข Keeps work area clean and clear of debris.
โ€ข Performs all job duties in full compliance with all Safety and GMP policies, rules, and regulations.
โ€ข Work with team members to achieve and maintain continuous improvement goals and directives.
โ€ข Actively participate in the BAPP process by performing observations in timeline specified, as well as allowing one self to be observed. Meet observation quota and quality.
โ€ข Utilizes computer-based specification database to produce products within the required specification ranges.
โ€ข Utilize computer inventory system to generate and read schedules, locate raw materials, and perform transactions to maintain the correct levels of inventory.
โ€ข Communicates with the Department Operations Resource Leader and Line Operator for schedule changes.
โ€ข Packer/Utility must check for and be able to identify the following conditions:
a. Holes in pouch
b. Silver on top front
c. Allowable silver on back - see specifications
d. Blisters on bag seals
e. Spliced paper
f. Open or leaky side seals
g. Wrinkles or pleats
h. Dirty pouches
i. Discolored film, most noticeable after film changes
j. Proper and legible code date
k. Labeling defects
l. Cap defects
m. Seal defects
โ€ข Help with changeovers including the appropriate PRISM transactions.
โ€ข Keep area neat and orderly, sweeping, vacuuming, and wiping as necessary.
โ€ข Observe checkweigher for any abnormal functioning and notify operator.
โ€ข Have knowledge of emergency stop buttons on line.
โ€ข Keep rework current so that the product can be used with current production.
โ€ข Check the case printers for code date, line number, and descriptions.
โ€ข Keep the glue pot full.
โ€ข Be able to correctly use PRISM to check inventory of scheduled items, to transfer correct materials to and from the line, and to produce product.
โ€ข Fill out production tallies and record as necessary.
โ€ข Watch for sub-standard pallets and record as necessary.
โ€ข Place trays of product into shipper and run trays through glue machine.
โ€ข Place cases on pallet according to the diagram on spec sheet.
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned.
SQF 2000 System Requirements
โ€ข Will follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
โ€ข Will support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.
โ€ข Will be accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
โ€ข Will follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements including FSMA-HARPC training and preventive control for human food consumption.

V. Position Relationship
Reports to assigned Operations Resource Leader; the position will maintain constant contact with all applicable team members to complete all assigned tasks on a daily basis.
VI. Physical Requirements
โ€ข Regularly lifting up to 25 lbs, with or without assistance.
โ€ข Regularly pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs.
โ€ข Regularly pushing/pulling weight >100 lbs. with assistance or material handling equipment.
โ€ข Regularly ascending/descending stairs.
โ€ข Regularly ascending/descending on mobile and stationary platforms and ladders.
โ€ข Continuous bending, squatting, and kneeling to perform tasks.
โ€ข Regularly reaching to clean, move product, operate tools, or equipment.
VII. Additional Comments (Experience/Education)
