Job description

Position: Press-Packer Utility
Location: Hartsville, SC
Wage: $23.95/hr with NO incentive
Shift: 1st shift at 40hrs with potential overtime
*Must be willing and flexible to work overtime when needed.*

Reporting directly to the supervisor, the Press- Packer Utility will Operate folder/gluer machine and production presses to produce items consistent with customer specifications.
What you will be doing:
  • Able to start and monitor folder/gluer machine. Adjust as needed by monitoring machine speed and glue levels.
  • Assist the Press operator with start up and monitoring of the production press. Make press adjustments as needed to ensure print consistency, quality, and registration. Verify proper color shades, die cuts, etc.
  • Run job at predetermined run speed. Maintain waste levels within set parameters. Load paper in press and pack product into boxes per production information sheet. Fill oil or wax pots. Make up and label shipping cartons.
  • Assist and perform daily tasks with Press Operator
  • Coordinate efforts with mechanics and assist other operators. Train other workers as instructed.
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials and products.
  • Conduct functional and performance testing on finished goods.
  • Maintain safe, clean workstation.
  • Complete all forms. Maintain records, samples, files, and/or logs as required.
  • Perform other duties as directed

We'd love to hear from you if:
  • 1 - 2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • High school degree or equivalent education and/or training preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend work orders and to perform basic mathematical functions required.
  • Atmosphere may contain fumes, odors, etc. at times
  • Medium heavy work requires exerting up to 75 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or 35 lbs. of force frequently, and/or 15 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
  • Visual acuity and color perception are necessary to distinguish color shades
  • Employees must be able to work any shift with overtime as required.

WORK CONDITIONS:
Atmosphere may contain fumes, odors, etc. at times. Noise level will vary according to proximity of operating equipment and may require hearing protection. Face shields may be required for pouring/ mixing some substances. Gloves must be worn when handling inks and other chemicals. Work is performed with and/or near chemicals and equipment. In accordance with our safety program, all employees receive informative training on chemicals and equipment used within the plant. Employees must be able to work any shift with overtime as required.
