- Ensures continuity of clinical support for all services related to patient care through coordination with physician office staff.
- Triages patient calls. Works with physician to ensure proper handling of all calls.
- Supervises and coordinate staff assignments on a daily basis to ensure patient flow in the office.
- Participate during the interview, hiring, dismissal process.
- Prepares room and assist doctor in office procedures.
- Prepares all surgical packets for patient. Give instructions and preparation directions as needed.
- Takes after hours call and contacts physician for proper handling of all calls.
- Regularly monitors office for JCAHO Compliance including reviews of sample drug logs, sharps and completeness of patient records including Ambulatory Summary Records.
- Ensures that all post op patients are seen in a timely manner.
- Resolves problems and concerns of all clients with confidence and control in a timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring that par levels of office and medical supplies are kept.
- Responsible for completing and submitting pharmacy check list to Pharmacy Administration on a monthly basis.
- Responsible for completing and submitting Audit Tracer to Physician Administration on a monthly basis.
- Assists with developing processes to improve the quality of patient care provided by the facility.
- Participate with office coordinator/office manager clinical staff evaluations.
- Performs other departmental specific job responsibilities as needed.
- License/Registration/Certification
- Medical Assistant Certification/LPN from accredited institution/agency required. Phlebotomy Certification Preferred. CPR Certification required.
- Education
- Technical or Associate Degree is preferred
- Experience
- 5+ years experience in a physician practice setting / healthcare industry experience.
