Packaging Sales Representative

$125,000 - $150,000 Yearly

Location

Remote within the assigned territory, with regular travel to Conner Industries facilities in Lewisburg, TN and Guthrie, KY. Up to 50% regional travel required

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Packaging Sales Representative plays a pivotal role in driving business growth by managing all stages of the sales process, including prospecting, cold calling, presenting solutions, preparing and negotiating proposals, closing deals, and overseeing ongoing account management.

 As a Packaging Sales Representative at Conner Industries, you will be responsible for securing new  custom protective packaging solutions incorporating wood, foam, corrugate and other materials for customers for our Lewisburg, TN and Guthrie, KY plants. The primary focus of this role is developing new business within the regional market surrounding our Lewsiburg, TN and Guthrie, KY facilities, while also pursuing strategic opportunities with customers throughout the U.S.

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Quickly understand and effectively communicate Conner's value proposition.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline while utilizing a CRM system to track and manage opportunities.
  • Develop and negotiate customized pricing contracts tailored to client needs.
  • Manage account profitability while maximizing expansion revenue opportunities.
  • Oversee the entire customer journey, from onboarding through the production cycle, ensuring a seamless and satisfactory experience.
  • Collaborate with sales and operations support teams to drive business success.
  • Demonstrate a track record of sales success and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Exhibit self-motivation, a strong desire to learn, and a passion for business development.
  • Effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks with keen attention to detail.
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations to both small and large audiences.
  • Maintain an energetic, organized, and proactive approach to managing various projects and priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pallet, container, protective packaging, or 3PL sales.
    • Ability to travel up to 50% regionally, with occasional overnight travel as needed.
    • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
    • Coursework in business-related fields is a plus.
    • Experience in complex manufacturing and service-based sales is advantageous.
    • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
    • Strong proficiency in presentations and computer skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is based out of a Conner Industries facility, with flexibility for remote work as needed. The position also requires travel to client locations and industry events, with up to 50% regional travel, including occasional overnight stays.
