Job description

Aquent Talent is seeking a Senior Packaging Production Designer to transform packaging concepts into precise, production-ready artwork for consumer devices and accessories.

Working closely with packaging designers, industrial designers, engineers, program managers, print vendors, and manufacturing partners, you will ensure packaging files meet design, regulatory, print-production, and manufacturing requirements across multiple products, configurations, and global markets.

This is a six-month contract position with the potential for extension. The role requires working onsite five days per week.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Produce manufacturing-ready artwork for product cartons, labels, in-box documentation, and regulatory inserts.
  • Ensure accuracy across layouts, typography, imagery, color specifications, dielines, and print-production requirements.
  • Manage packaging artwork for complex product programs involving multiple SKUs, accessories, revisions, and regional variations.
  • Translate established design concepts and systems into technically accurate production files.
  • Collaborate with packaging and industrial designers to ensure final artwork reflects the intended visual direction and product presentation.
  • Partner with packaging engineers and manufacturing teams to confirm files meet production specifications.
  • Work directly with print vendors and global manufacturing partners to review files, troubleshoot print or dieline issues, and prepare artwork for mass production.
  • Review artwork for completeness, regulatory accuracy, technical quality, and production readiness.
  • Manage artwork revisions and ensure updates are implemented accurately and documented thoroughly.
  • Maintain organized, version-controlled files, packaging templates, artwork libraries, and production documentation.
  • Coordinate deliverables with product-development milestones and manufacturing schedules.
  • Perform image retouching and production adjustments as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in packaging production design, graphic production, or a closely related discipline.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing production-ready packaging artwork for consumer products.
  • Strong knowledge of typography, layout, color management, dielines, prepress requirements, and print specifications.
  • Experience managing detailed artwork across multiple SKUs, revisions, configurations, and regional packaging variations.
  • Strong retouching and image-production skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies before files enter production.
  • Experience maintaining version-controlled artwork and organized production documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work against product-development and manufacturing deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience producing packaging artwork for consumer electronics, devices, or complex hardware products.
  • Familiarity with large-scale packaging manufacturing and print-production workflows.
  • Experience working directly with packaging engineers, print vendors, and global manufacturing partners.
  • Experience supporting global product launches and large, complex product portfolios.
