Job description

Join us to champion safety, food safety, quality, and on-time performance across four critical manufacturing areas—Conversion, Flexographic Printing, Security, and Rewind. As the Conversion Manager, you’ll align people, processes, and technology to consistently meet customer requirements while managing cost and elevating team engagement.

Your mission
  • Set the standard for safety by communicating expectations, ensuring completion of Novolex safety training, and leading thorough incident investigations with the Plant Manager, Operations Manager, HR Manager, Safety Manager, and others.
  • Safeguard food and consumer safety by reinforcing GMPs, enabling employees to take swift action, and promoting a culture where risks are surfaced and addressed.
  • Deliver operational excellence by managing daily production and meeting schedules without compromising quality or service.
  • Win on the numbers by relentlessly monitoring Throughput, Waste & Scrap, OEE, Changeover Times, Labor Efficiency, and Downtime—and closing gaps fast.
  • Build capability by coaching supervisors and operators, conducting performance and development reviews, and supporting hiring, onboarding, training, and succession planning.
  • Accelerate improvement through Lean initiatives, root-cause problem solving, and support for capital projects and equipment upgrades.
  • Be financially accountable for labor and operating budgets; control costs through process improvements; manage MUV and support budgeting and forecasting.
  • Partner broadly with Production Planning, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Training, and HR to achieve plant-wide goals.
  • Adapt and contribute with additional duties as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, business, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership and 3+ years managing production teams.
  • Experience in one or more of: flexographic printing, film conversion, rewind operations, bag making, flexible packaging manufacturing.
  • Background in continuous improvement; strong scheduling, deadline management, and prioritization.
  • Leadership and coaching strength; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic and operational decision-making; conflict resolution and employee relations expertise.
  • Robust organization and planning; mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Data-driven with KPI management experience; ERP (SAP) and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation range: $100,000–$115,000 plus performance-based bonus and benefits. The range represents target minimum to maximum across U.S. locations. Actual pay is based on job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon; each decision reflects the specific facts and circumstances.
