Job description

Monterrey Tile, a leader in the tile and stone industry, is looking for an experienced and hands-on OPERATIONS MANAGER to oversee, lead and support multiple departments.
In this role, you will be the driving force behind our facility, responsible for maintaining a safe, positive, and engaging work environment. You will balance high-level business strategy with daily warehouse management to drive sales growth and ensure an optimal customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Logistics Operations
  • Oversee and drive the daily performance of multiple warehouse departments, ensuring seamless end-to-end operational flow.
  • Implement strategic process improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse layout, distribution, and logistics efficiency.
  • Manage facility maintenance, upkeep, and overall warehouse appearance to meet strict organizational standards.
  • Audit and resolve equipment issues, specifically forklift maintenance and daily inspection compliance.
  • Ensure all warehouse departments are adequately staffed and have the proper tools, technology, and equipment to complete their jobs.

Safety, Risk Management & Compliance
  • Maintain a zero-accident culture by enforcing company policies, promptly correcting unsafe conditions, and promoting peer-to-peer safety.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all facility safety regulations, material handling procedures, and storage guidelines.
  • Manage physical demands of the role, routinely operating and leading teams in outdoor elements and handling heavy materials up to 75 lbs.

Financial Performance & Business Acumen
  • Demonstrate strong business sense by controlling department expenses and maximizing profit margins.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy, resource allocation, and labor costs to minimize waste.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and warehouse metrics to track, analyze, and report on operational performance.

Leadership & Team Accountability
  • Provide direct guidance to department leads, ensuring consistent administration of company policies, standards, and steps of service.
  • Hold teams accountable to high service standards to deliver an optimal experience for internal and external customers.
  • Partner with HR and the General Manager to resolve employee relations issues, handle scheduling, and conduct 90-day and annual evaluations.
  • Promote a free flow of information, collaborative ideas, and positive attitude across all managed departments.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of previous warehouse management experience. A strong record of successful distribution and logistics management.
  • Must be able to actively walk and oversee a large 3-acre facility/yard footprint, work comfortably in outdoor weather elements, and safely lift/move up to 75 lbs.
  • Proven ability to manage staff across multiple departments, implement process improvement initiatives, and solve complex problems.
  • Exceptional communication skills, strong decision-making abilities, and proficient Microsoft Office computer skills.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a felony background check.
