Job description

Packaging Operations Manager

The Packaging Operations Manager role has a national salary range of $72,000 - $85,000. For roles within California the range is $75,000 to $95,000 and Washington is $77,968.80 to $95,000.

DHL Supply Chain Contract Packaging provides an in DC packaging solution including primary and secondary packaging, POP, display, pallet display etc. We are seeking Operational Leaders with an eye for continuous improvement, secondary packaging and postponement production.

  • Support General Manager and engineering team with financial, project, and monthly reporting
  • Manage the supervisors to drive efficiency through production and planning
  • Communicate to team members production plan/status via start-up and pacing meetings
  • Set up relevant training and development for direct reports i.e. Leadership Standard Work or Lean Manufacturing.
  • Manage production planning and ordering of supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Oversee efficiency tracking and labor planning
  • Communicate any concerns or call-outs with customer, as necessary.
  • Assess project and resource needs
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are met
  • Identify, anticipate, and remove operational bottlenecks
  • Drive continuous improvement via 5S and 8 waste elimination training
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to maintain (WIP) work-in-process inventory
  • Provide reporting on production, safety, quality, and any other reports as needed.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferred
  • 3 years' industry experience in Primary Packaging, Secondary Packaging, Custom Packaging, Manufacturing or related businesses and/or operations, required
  • 2 4 years' management experience in a supervisory / management role, required
