Job description

NOVA Engineering is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Project Engineer with NCDOT experience to join our Raleigh, NC OR Greenville, SC office. 

NOVA works on a diverse range of projects including commercial, industrial, retail, government, office, transportation, and residential developments. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions and exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Conduct and oversee special inspections and construction materials testing projects.
  • Review and approve technical reports for both geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing projects, ensuring they meet client and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, or an equivalent international degree with NCEES credential evaluation, is required 

  • 4 - 10 years of NCDOT Geotechnical Engineering is required
  • EIT/Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred or ability to obtain within a year
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
