Job description

Role Overview
The Packaging Engineer will support Lockheed Martin Space Production Operations as part of the Product Protection Engineering team. This role focuses on designing and implementing packaging solutions that protect products during storage, handling, and transportation, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
Design packaging solutions using internal and industry standards to maintain the "as-manufactured" condition of products
Ensure compliance for outbound hazardous materials shipments
Analyze current processes to identify gaps and improve efficiency
Assist in developing product protection specifications
Test packaging designs to meet Department of Transportation regulations and performance standards
Use CAD software and product data management systems to create, review, and release product protection designs
Support production activities, including technical drawing reviews and transportation/logistics initiatives
Communicate effectively across teams, both orally and in writing
Work Environment
Fast-paced production and engineering environment
Collaboration with cross-functional teams in Product Protection Engineering and Production Operations
