Job description

Position Title: Packaging Engineer
Duration: 6 Months+
Pay Rate: $40.44/hr on W2
Location: El Segundo, CA 90245
Job Description
We are seeking a Packaging Engineer to support a packaging engineering and operations team. This role provides hands-on exposure to packaging development, testing, data management, and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support packaging development, testing, and implementation activities for new materials and components.
  • Prepare and set up test requests and coordinate testing activities.
  • Review and evaluate packaging test reports and help communicate findings to project teams.
  • Coordinate requests for required packaging and testing data.
  • Perform data cleanup, organization, and maintenance for project documentation.
  • Maintain accurate project files and support LIMS/PLM data inputs.
  • Ensure packaging documentation is accurate and complete for project transfers.
  • Support sustainability initiatives involving sustainable materials and recyclability assessments.
  • Assist with sustainability data collection and reporting activities.
  • Follow up on project action items and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with teams including R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations to support project execution.
  • Support packaging projects from concept through implementation and launch.
  • Assist with data gathering, project tracking, follow-ups, and other project-related activities.
  • Participate in diverse packaging engineering projects and gain hands-on experience throughout the product development process.
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
  • Approximately 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience or interest in packaging materials, testing, documentation, or engineering project support.
  • Strong organizational and data-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow up on project activities.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and teamwork skills.
  • Business-level English proficiency.
  • Curious, organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced packaging environment.
