Job description

Almac Group is currently seeking a Package Designer for our Durham, NC location. The Package Designer will perform Package Design activities for Almac Clinical Services whilst adhering to customer study/protocol requirements and ensuring that final packaging will promote patient compliance.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Interface with the Business Development, Client Services, and Label Generation departments to determine the required design packaging specifications as per study/protocol.
  • Create designs and graphical layout of packaging components. Provide representative samples whenever possible to BD for customers.
  • Interface with Label Generation (LG) to transfer design related information surrounding label design
  • Create or obtain required representative packaging component samples and simulated labels for use in packaging illustrations
  • Create packaging illustrations representing assembly methods described in Batch Documentation, and design required templates.
  • Create and/or obtain samples of bottles, caps, capsules, cards, cartons, blister strips, mock labels and any other required component.
  • May require lifting of items 35 lbs max, up to 10% travel of US sites.

Qualifications:
Required Experience / Education:
  • 2 Year Degree in Design/Packaging related studies
  • Minimum 2 year Design related experience (Consumer or Pharmaceutical Packaging)
  • Pharmaceutical or similar GMP environment
  • Basic understanding of digital photography/photo editing
  • CAD

Preferred Experience / Education:
  • 4 Year Degree in Design/Packaging related studies
  • Pharmaceutical or similar GMP environment
  • Graphical Design/Illustration
  • Pharmaceutical or similar GMP environment
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Good visualization skills
  • Provide legible and accurate written information to general documentation
  • Ability to take and understand direction
