Overview
Position Overview
Responsible for maintaining all production equipment in good working order and upholds all GMP quality standards, plant safety and equipment on all production lines. Requires thorough knowledge and understanding of all production equipment to support set-ups, changeovers, adjustments, minor repairs, and routine operations in accordance with company SOP's and manufacturer's specifications Setup Technicians are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production flow with minimal down time while maintaining a safe work environment. Assists more skilled staff in the completion of larger and more complex assignments. Must be willing to set up, run, adjust and maintain equipment.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Perform all production equipment line set ups and change overs.
  • Perform all necessary adjustments on production equipment.
  • Evaluate condition of equipment and tooling during set-ups and report needed repairs.
  • Completeappropriate paper/digitaldocuments in a timely and detailed manner.
  • Practice and actively drive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) processes.
  • Monitorand adjust machinery to a level whereby maximum accuracy and efficiency is achieved.
  • Convert machinery to accommodate changes in various environments.
  • Operatenewly repaired/adjusted equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs/adjustments.
  • Works alone or with other technicians and/or trades toaccomplishassigned tasks.
  • Responsible for training and aiding other operators in the performance of line changeovers.
  • Ensures proper cleanliness and assembly of all manufacturing equipment per the approved SOP.
  • Responsible formaintaininga neat, clean, and safe working environment at all times.
  • Follow SOPs and GMPs, i.e., wearing proper clothing, beard covers, gloves, etc.
  • Identifiesand reports any quality issues to supervisor or quality department.
  • Understands and adheres to all company policies, procedures, SOPs, and safety regulations.
  • Follow all safety procedures when opening, repairing, and installing process or plant equipment. (LOTO, Hot Work Permits, Confined Space Permits, etc.).
  • Operatesvarious types of equipment (fork truck, electric pallet jacks, man lift, etc.).
  • Responsible for serviceability and accountability of company tools/tooling.
  • Responsible for maintaining 5S standards and cleaning the area in assigned areas.
  • Complete assigned course work/training asdeterminedby department management.
  • Maintaina positive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop skills.
  • Responsible toassistand/or coach less experienced associates.
  • Required to work on ladders, scaffolds, and equipment.
  • All othertasks asassigned by department management.
  • Follow Standard Work as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Licenses:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years relative work experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability with knowledge and understanding of equipment and machinery
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands, speak, and hear.
  • Required to wear special garments along with hair nets, beard covers to prevent
  • cross contamination.
  • Required to sit or stand for long periods, bend, reach with arms, and stoop at knees
  • Work is sometimes performed in a moderately noisy business area.
  • Able to carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
