Job description

As Assistant Packaging Designer, you'll help bring packaging and display concepts to life — from first sketch to final, press-ready files — for some of the biggest names in retail. Working within licensed brand guidelines, you'll apply creativity and resourcefulness to design solutions that showcase product features clearly and effectively, all while balancing brand standards and cost targets. You'll gain hands-on experience with iconic national brands like Champion, Reebok, And1, and more.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Packaging Designer and Packaging & Corporate Creative Services team to conceptualize, develop, and execute design strategies across print and digital platforms.
  • Support the Marketing department as a creative resource, contributing insights and recommendations across a variety of projects.
  • Manage time effectively to consistently deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Produce and finalize packaging and display mechanicals to "ready for press" (RFP) standards.
  • Build mock-up packaging to test and validate dimensions, and to prepare physical samples for internal and stakeholder meetings.
  • Support photo shoots as needed, ensuring output aligns with design objectives.
  • Partner with Packaging Developers and Packaging Production Artists to maintain design integrity throughout the development process.
  • Retouch images for packaging and display materials as required.
  • Use Airtable to track assigned projects through the go-to-market packaging process.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams to advance shared goals and business objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in packaging design and POS displays
  • Strong design creative, conceptual, and organizational skills, with the ability to execute design work from concept to completion
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office required
  • Experience creating "RFP" (ready for press) mechanicals, knowledge of photography and photo retouching
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve problems
  • Experience with Airtable or other project tracking systems & product management software like PLM a plus
  • Experience with licensed branding and interpreting brand style guides for product extensions a plus


Annual salary range starting at $60,000+
