JOB SUMMARY:
The Package Handler will efficiently process and sort mail and parcels, ensuring that all labels are accurately printed and correctly placed. They will also adhere to all processing and sorting procedures to maintain quality and accuracy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Sort and process all incoming mail and parcels, aligning with designated area requirements and maintaining our high-quality standards.
  • Ensure sorting and processing targets are met or exceeded consistently.
  • Inspect each piece of mail to ensure the labels are affixed correctly and the zip code on the label matches the address zip code.
  • Operating sorting machinery which may include loading cardboard boxes (Gaylords) and/or bins and rapidly placing mail/parcels onto conveyors.
  • Scan labels and maintain workstation.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area
  • Flexibility to adapt to different operational areas as needed to support the business.
  • Essential duties are not necessarily exhaustive and may be supplemented or otherwise revised by DHL at its sole discretion.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High School or equivalent training and/or related experience preferred.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
  • Listen actively and execute verbal instructions effectively.
  • Ability to sort alphabetically and numerically.
  • Understand standardized math processes, e.g., count, addition, and subtraction.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and maintain a consistent performance over extended periods.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals.
  • Excel in a role that involves well-outlined procedures and clear instructions.
  • Build strong working relationships by regularly engaging with team members.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Walk, push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs. (additional weight may be required with assistance)
  • Reach overhead, squat, bend or kneel most of the work shift.
  • Transport mail utilizing pallet jack.
  • This is a warehouse environment where frequently this position will be exposed to cold, hot, and changing temperatures; will constantly experience noise at medium level not damaging or loud enough to require protective equipment; will frequently be exposed to dust, dirt, and changes in lighting.
