About the role
The Material Handler is responsible for shipping finished goods and maintaining materials that support our customers and production lines. Duties involve stocking, cutting, shipping and/or moving finish goods and materials/supplies. Operates material handling and warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Weekday Nights M-Th 8pm to 6am
Responsibilities
  • Assist with unloading and loading incoming and outgoing freight
  • Obtains and moves finished goods and materials with the use of a RF scanner
  • Identify and packages finished goods in the appropriate manner
  • Use warehouse packaging equipment as needed
  • Preforms cycle counts of warehoused inventory
  • Ability to utilize cutting lines
  • Maintain 5S standards

Qualifications
  • Understanding of basic math skills - adding, subtracting and measuring
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to use judgement related to identifying potential safety hazards

Physical Demands
  • This position requires 20% clerical and planning and 80% material handling, warehouse equipment operations, and/or walking and assisting warehouse employees
  • Work is primarily performed on the warehouse floor
  • Eye and foot protection must be worn
  • Lifting of weights up to 30 pounds may occur regularly, with a potential for lifting weights of up to 80 pounds on an occasional basis
  • The physical demands of the position include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and eye/hand/foot coordination
  • May stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.

Education & Experience
  • High School education or GED preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) months material handling experience
  • Proficient in 1 warehouse function (cutting, shipping, material handling, shipping clerk)
