Job description

The Staff Pad has partnered with a well-known logistics and warehouse organization in Chicago, IL and we are looking for a Seasonal Mover / Art Handler to join the team for an exciting seasonal opportunity supporting prestigious projects, including the Chicago Art Expo and other large-scale moving assignments.

This part-time position offers a flexible schedule and requires professional handling, transportation, delivery and installation of valuable personal effects, fine art, antiques, and furniture for both local and interstate moves.

What You’ll Do

As a Mover / Art Handler, you will:

  • Follow directions, adhere to instructions from supervisors and execute assignments professionally and efficiently
  • Carefully pack, transport, handle, and install fine art, antiques, and high-value furnishings professionally and with the highest level of care
  • Assist with complex installations and site-specific projects
  • Support and mentor junior art handlers when needed
  • Safely load and unload company and third-party vehicles with precision and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and professionalism on every job
  • Occasionally report directly to or from client locations and submit signed manual timesheets within 24 hours in such cases
  • Communicate any proposed trip or manifest changes to the Dispatch Manager prior to execution

What We Are Looking For

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities :

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in fast-paced, changing environments
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Professional communication, customer service, and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds and push/pull up to 150 pounds using appropriate equipment.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Experience using logistics and moving equipment such as dollies, J-bars, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Ability to accurately complete paperwork, condition reports, and other job documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively under direct supervision while maintaining accountability and professionalism.
  • Understanding that assignment and schedule changes require approval from the Dispatch Manager.
