Job Description

Department: Final Assembly
Reports To: Final Assembly Supervisor
Location: Binghamton, NY
Position Summary:
The Pack Line Operator is responsible for the final cleaning, inspection, and packaging of finished products prior to shipment. This role ensures that products are free of cosmetic or functional defects, properly protected, and packaged with the correct accessories, documentation, and packing materials. Strong attention to detail, reading comprehension, and physical endurance are required to maintain quality and efficiency on the pack line.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Cleaning & Inspection
    • Clean finished products using approved methods to remove dust, fingerprints, or residue prior to packaging.
    • Perform visual inspections to identify cosmetic defects, damage, or missing components.
    • Verify that products meet final appearance and quality standards before packing.
  • Packaging & Materials Handling
    • Package products using polybags, corrugated cardboard inner and outer cartons, and other protective materials per work instructions.
    • Assemble packaging materials and ensure proper product orientation and protection during boxing.
    • Lift, move, and stack finished products and packaged cartons weighing up to 70-80 lbs.
  • Accessory & Documentation Verification
    • Ensure the correct owner's manual, remote control, and any required accessories are included with the proper unit or model.
    • Verify part numbers, model identification, and packing lists to prevent packaging errors.
  • Documentation & Process Compliance
    • Follow written work instructions, packing specifications, and visual standards.
    • Accurately record completed packaging operations and quantities as required.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe packing area.
  • Safety & Quality
    • Adhere to all safety procedures related to lifting, ergonomics, and material handling.
    • Use proper PPE and lifting techniques to prevent injury.
    • Report damaged packaging materials or product concerns to supervision.
