Physician assistants (PAs) are licensed healthcare professionals who practice medicine as part of a team with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare workers. They are trained to examine patients, diagnose illnesses, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans. PAs work in a variety of medical settings, including hospitals, clinics, and private practices, and can specialize in areas such as family medicine, emergency medicine, or surgery. Their role is crucial in expanding access to medical care and improving patient outcomes.
