The Distribution Center Shipping Supervisor at Airgas Safety (Levittown, PA) oversees daily outbound shipping operations, workflow efficiency, and team performance within the safety products distribution center. This role ensures that all safety equipment, PPE, and industrial supplies are accurately processed, packaged, and shipped on time while enforcing Airgas’s safety culture and regulatory standards.

Core Responsibilities
  • Operations Management: Direct day-to-day outbound shipping workflows, order verification, staging, and carrier dispatching (LTL, parcel, and dedicated haulers).
  • Team Leadership & Development: Supervise, train, and coach a team of shipping associates and material handlers. Conduct daily shift huddles, manage scheduling, and track productivity metrics.
  • Safety & Compliance: Drive a "Safety First" environment by ensuring strict adherence to OSHA, DOT, EPA, and Airgas SAFECORE standards. Investigate incidents, lead monthly safety training, and conduct routine dock audits.
  • Inventory & Systems Management: Utilize SAP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to audit outbound orders, track inventory accuracy, resolve order exceptions, and log shipping data.
  • Carrier & Fleet Coordination: Coordinate daily carrier pick-ups, evaluate delivery performance, and ensure compliance with hazardous materials shipping protocols where applicable.
  • Equipment & Dock Maintenance: Oversee powered industrial equipment (forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks) maintenance logs and maintain organized, hazard-free dock areas.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business preferred.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of progressive distribution center or warehouse leadership experience, with specific focus on high-volume outbound shipping.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with SAP (or equivalent ERP/WMS systems), Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs), and parcel carrier platforms.
  • Certifications: Forklift operator certification required; DOT/Hazmat shipping certification preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to regularly lift up to 50–60 Lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and operate powered industrial trucks in a fast-paced environment.
