Product Owner Director - P&C Commercial Underwriting & AI Innovation
Location: Remote, United States
Help redefine how commercial underwriting works.
Majesco is looking for a senior Property & Casualty (P&C) domain expert who understands commercial underwriting operations and has moved into technology, implementation, or product ownership. This role sits at the intersection of P&C operations expertise, modern insurance platforms, and the next generation of Immersive AI user experience.
You will help translate real operations workflows across policy lifecycle into scalable Majesco agentic capabilities and contribute to the design and execution of AI-powered solutions that improve decision speed, risk insights, and operational efficiency for our customers (insurers and large MGA's).
This role is ideal for someone who has lived inside P&C underwriting operations, understands the realities of commercial/specialty business, and now wants to shape the technology that will define the next decade of underwriting.
About the Role
Commercial underwriting is rapidly changing.
Carriers are shifting from manual underwriting workflows to AI-assisted decisioning, automated risk assessment, and data-driven underwriting platforms.
As a Senior Business Analyst / Product Owner at Majesco, you will help insurers modernize policy operations on the Majesco P&C platform while also contributing to the design of Agentic AI underwriting capabilities that will power the next generation of underwriting automation.
You will serve as the bridge between commercial underwriting expertise and platform design, ensuring that underwriting and policy workflows, risk evaluation processes, and broker interactions translate into scalable product capabilities.
This role combines P&C underwriting domain leadership, software implementation expertise, and product innovation.
What You Will Do
  • Lead discovery sessions with underwriting leaders, underwriting/policy operations teams, and distribution stakeholders across commercial/specialty P&C lines.

  • Translate real-world P&C underwriting workflows into scalable platform capabilities on the Majesco P&C platform.

  • Design and document underwriting configuration, including risk evaluation rules, underwriting workflows, authority levels, referrals, and decision logic.

  • Guide insurers in implementing underwriting capabilities using a configuration-first approach aligned with Majesco platform standards.

  • Work with product and AI teams to help design the next generation of Agentic AI underwriting tools that assist underwriters in risk selection, triage, and decision support.

  • Help define underwriting data models, risk attributes, and decision signals used to power AI-assisted underwriting workflows.

  • Partner with solution architects and engineering teams to ensure underwriting processes integrate seamlessly with policy administration, rating, distribution portals, and data platforms.

  • Define integration requirements with third-party underwriting data providers such as property data vendors, financial data providers, and risk intelligence platforms.

  • Lead backlog definition, user story development, and acceptance criteria for underwriting platform capabilities in Agile delivery environments.

  • Support testing and validation of underwriting workflows, decision logic, and automated underwriting rules.

  • Mentor business analysts across global teams on P&C underwriting domain knowledge and Majesco implementation best practices.

What You Bring
  • 10 plus years of experience in insurance, insurance technology, or consulting.

  • Deep expertise in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance, with strong knowledge of commercial underwriting operations.

  • Hands-on experience working in commercial underwriting or underwriting operations before moving into technology, transformation, or implementation roles.

  • Experience implementing or configuring underwriting systems, policy administration systems, or digital underwriting workflows.

  • Strong understanding of commercial underwriting processes, including:

  • Risk triage and submission intake

  • Underwriting evaluation and decision support

  • Referral and authority workflows

  • Broker interactions and underwriting collaboration

  • Policy issuance and endorsement workflows

  • Experience translating underwriting workflows into system capabilities within modern insurance platforms.

  • Experience working in Agile environments using tools such as Jira or Aha!.

  • Ability to work with technical teams to interpret integration patterns, APIs, and data flows.

  • Strong facilitation skills with both underwriting business leaders and engineering teams.

Bonus Points for:
  • Experience working with P&C core platforms, including policy administration or underwriting workbench systems.

  • Exposure to AI-assisted underwriting, decision engines, or underwriting automation platforms.

  • Experience working with underwriting data providers or third-party risk intelligence platforms.

  • Background in commercial and specialty lines, such as:

  • Commercial Package (Property, Liability, Auto, Inland Marie and Excess)

  • Workers Compensation

  • Commercial Auto

  • Specialty lines (Aviation, Marine, etc...)

  • Experience participating in large insurance modernization or platform transformation programs.
