Nemours Children's Health - Orlando, FL
Nemours Children's Health in Orlando is seeking an experienced Trauma Program Manager to join our growing team and help shape the future of pediatric trauma care in Central Florida.
At Nemours Children's, we believe that caring for children begins with caring for those who care for them. The well-being of our associates is the foundation of our work in Whole Child Health-seven dimensions of wellness that include physical, emotional, social, and financial health. Becoming the healthiest workforce is a bold goal, but it positions us to lead our patients, their families, and our communities toward the healthiest generation of children.
As part of a nationally recognized, financially stable health system backed by the Nemours Foundation, and amid a $300 million expansion of our Orlando campus, you'll find exceptional support for your professional growth and well-being. This is a place where perseverance, collaboration, and innovation thrive-and where nurses who are energized by new challenges can truly flourish.
Position Overview
The Trauma Program Nurse Manager is a registered nurse leader who organizes and oversees the services and systems essential to a multidisciplinary approach in caring for injured pediatric patients. Working in partnership with the Trauma Medical Director, this leader ensures the highest standards of care, compliance with state trauma system regulations, and continuous improvement in patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the planning, development, and daily operations of the pediatric trauma program
  • Partner with the Trauma Medical Director to maintain compliance with Florida Department of Health standards
  • Develop and manage the program's operational budget
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives focused on quality outcomes and patient safety
  • Oversee trauma policies, protocols, and registry documentation
  • Provide leadership for professional education and community outreach related to trauma services
  • Participate in local, regional, and state trauma system activities

Position Requirements
  • Current RN license in the State of Florida or Advance Practice Provider status
  • Master's degree required.
  • Minimum of three years of emergency and trauma experience; trauma system experience preferred
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical abilities
  • American Heart Association BLS required upon hire

What We Offer
  • Medical, Dental and Vision - Four levels of medical coverage are available, including fertility care and prescription drugs for associates and their families.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) - PTO will accrue according to your role and length of service. There are six paid holidays annually, and one day of paid volunteer time off.
  • Paid Parental Leave - New parents receive 6 weeks of paid leave at 100% of pay.
  • Tuition Reimbursement - Reimbursement available on approved courses to maximum of $5,250.
  • Retirement Savings Plan - There is a 403(b) plan with immediate participation and matching contributions.
  • Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance - Basic Life Insurance is paid equal to one time your annual salary, up to a maximum of $500,000.
  • Short- and Long-Term Disability - All associates are automatically covered by our short-term disability coverage with income protection for disabilities caused by illness, accident or injury that are not work-related, at 60% of your salary.
