Remote Plaintiff Employment Attorney/Lawyer

Robert Half

Irvine, CA • Remote

Full-time

Job description

REMOTE ATTORNEY OPPORTUNITY!!!

A growing plaintiff law practice is looking to bring in an experienced civil litigation attorney to join their team! Employment experience is a plus, but not required. However, passion for employment law and interest in litigation, including through trial, is a must!

This role is well suited for a litigator who enjoys persuasive writing, direct client interaction, and managing cases through all stages of dispute resolution. The position is primarily remote, with in-person attendance needed for certain hearings, mediations, depositions, and trial-related proceedings.

Responsibilities:

• Lead plaintiff employment matters from initial evaluation through settlement or trial, maintaining momentum and strategy at each stage of the case.

• Communicate regularly with clients, from early case assessment through active litigation, to provide guidance, gather facts, and prepare them for key case events.

• Prepare and respond to written discovery, coordinate client input for verified responses, and address disputes related to document production and interrogatories.

• Draft substantive legal documents such as demand letters, meet-and-confer correspondence, discovery motions, mediation briefs, complaints, subpoenas, and deposition notices.

• Represent clients at hearings and support case advancement through strong advocacy in motion practice and other court appearances.

• Defend plaintiff depositions and, with increased independence over time, take depositions, participate in mediations, and handle settlement discussions.

• Monitor litigation calendars closely to ensure compliance with discovery obligations, court deadlines, and trial preparation requirements.

• Record time accurately and contemporaneously to support fee recovery in matters involving statutory attorneys’ fees.

• At least 2 years of civil litigation experience as a licensed attorney.
• Demonstrated strength in legal research, motion drafting, and written advocacy.
• Working knowledge of discovery procedures, court rules, and litigation deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple active matters with accuracy.
• Interest in plaintiff-side employment law and commitment to representing individuals in workplace disputes.
• Willingness to attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials as needed, including matters outside the immediate area.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with firm leadership and support staff.
