Job description

Our company has offices in New Orleans, Houston, and overseas. Many patented designs for the petroleum industry and rapidly expanding into aerospace and nuclear industries manufacturing High Pressure/High Temperature fittings, valves, and related equipment. Our New Orleans office is under new management and is looking for well qualified candidates who share our commitment to excellence in manufacturing to come grow with us!

The candidate will be responsible for producing machined parts on CNC Vertical Mills using Master Cam programs. Familiarity with G-Code is desired. This includes setting up and operating the machines while ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, as well as maintaining equipment and tools to keep them in optimal working condition.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and execute machining tasks: Closely follow Work Order Travelers, interpret technical documents and CAD drawings to develop successful machining plans.

Set up machinery: Install and adjust chucks, tools, attachments, and other components; indicate vices and tram heads.

Load machinery: Position stock using appropriate lifting methods including overhead cranes.

Verify settings: Measure positions, inspect first-run parts, and ensure adherence to design specifications.

Maintain specifications: Observe and measure operations, troubleshoot processes, adjust controls, and replace worn tools as required.

Adhere to safety protocols: Follow safety procedures and regulations to maintain safe operations.

Perform equipment maintenance: Complete preventive maintenance tasks by following manufacturers' instructions and daily maintenance of equipment to keep in optimal operating condition.

Maintain accurate time keeping: Accurately clock on and off operations using bar code scanners to record real time costs in our ERP system.

Support organizational goals: Take ownership of new requests and identify opportunities to enhance job performance.

Qualifications

•High school diploma or equivalent

•Vocational training or apprenticeship in machining

•Experience with CNC Mills and Lathes

•3+ years of experience in a manufacturing machine shop

•Proficiency in reading technical drawings and work orders
