Job description

This role plays a key part in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of Washington and Lee University Dining Services' highest-volume quick-service location. This overnight, part-time position supports Cafe 77 by performing essential cleaning, stocking, and maintenance tasks to ensure the facility is fully prepared for daily service. Tasks are provided at the start of each shift and may vary based on operational needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs overnight cleaning, stocking, and maintenance tasks to ensure Cafe 77 is fully prepared for daily service.
  • Completes daily task lists provided at the beginning of each shift.
  • Duties may include, but are not limited to: fryer cleaning, floor and dining room cleaning, stocking dry, refrigerated, and frozen shelves, hood vent cleaning, and other kitchen cleaning and organization tasks.
  • Maintains cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards in all assigned work areas.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: This position is scheduled for 20 hours per week. Shifts are four (4) days per week, from 1:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. This shift overlaps with both PM and AM leadership to ensure adequate supervision and support. In this position, hours are limited to 29 or fewer per week and fewer than 999 hours in the employee's anniversary year.

Pay Range: The range for this position is $17.75 - 18.10 per hour.

Offers are based on factors such as qualifications and relevant experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to multitask with various needs of the business.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written directions and provide responses in writing.
  • Ability to use computers to read and respond to emails and to use basic applications is also required.
  • Must be committed to following departmental standards and guidelines to ensure the safety of self and others.
  • Must be able to pass an extensive background check.
