Overnight Engineer I
Overview:
This role is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing hotel mechanical systems to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the property. The Engineer I will support the Engineering team by performing preventative maintenance, responding to maintenance requests, and maintaining hotel equipment and facilities to Omni standards.
Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain hotel mechanical systems, including domestic water systems, hot water systems, chilled water systems, and pool systems.
Operate and understand basic television, plumbing, and electrical systems throughout the hotel.
Assist other Engineers with maintenance and repair projects as needed.
Understand and follow Omni fire alarm procedures and emergency response protocols.
Maintain a thorough understanding of Omni Hotels & Resorts policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Monitor and understand chiller operations and assist with routine maintenance.
Complete assigned repairs and preventative maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
Clean and organize work areas upon completion of all assignments.
Complete and maintain daily paperwork, logs, and maintenance records.
Utilize Lockout/Tagout procedures and follow all safety guidelines when performing repairs.
Respond to maintenance requests in a professional and efficient manner.
Ensure work areas remain clean, safe, and free from hazards or obstructions.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in hotel engineering, facilities maintenance, or a related field preferred.
Working knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, and wall vinyl repairs preferred.
Experience with mechanical plant operations and heating/cooling systems preferred, including boilers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, domestic water pumping stations, and related controls.
Ability to understand and operate chiller systems.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and utilize man lifts to work at heights up to 30 feet.
Must be able to reach overhead for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.
