Job description

Title: Die-Cutting Operator

Reports to: Die-Cutting Supervisor


Overview:

Scope of Position:

The Die-Cutting Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining die-cutting equipment to produce high – quality finished products that meet customer specifications and production schedules. This position ensures safety, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction throughout the production process.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform line clearance according to standing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and complete all Line Clearance (LC) Logs
  • Install and align dies, stripping units, blanking tools, and other press components as required
  • Have all necessary material staged at the machine
  • Read and understand job jacket instructions
  • Ensure customer sample is a the machine and that first piece approval matches the sample
  • Supervise helpers
  • Obtain sign-off on first piece approval by supervisor
  • Perform quality pulls as specified in department SOP
  • Complete production logs both for Fox and customer if required
  • Ensure machine is setup properly and running to specified rate and quality
  • Identify non-conforming products and place Quality Assurance inspect tags on load
  • Follow any customer specific requirements for manufacturing, quality, and shipping
  • Report any unclear or conflicting information to the department supervisor
  • Input load counts into Material Handling system and generate correct load tags
  • Ensure all loads contain Material Handling load tag
  • Request labels from shipping and apply to cartons if required
  • Perform any other duties as required


Qualifications:

Required

  • Previous experience operating die-cutting equipment: Bobst, Kluge, Yoco
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to distinguish color variations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move materials as needed
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
